Sansuikan Kinryu started as the restaurant "Mikawa-ya" in 1910 (Meiji 43) and opened a kappo-ryotei (fancy restaurant serving mainly Japanese cuisine) "Sansuiro" in 1919 (Taisho 8), and made new history as an onsen and restaurant hotel which maintains their cuisine from the beginning of their opening. It is located next to Kanzanji-temple, which is the origin of the name "Kanzanji-onsen", and is proud of their great view where you can marvel at a full view of the lake spread out before your eyes. It has a perfect setting for walking around Kanzanji area since it is close to Hamanako pleasure boat boarding point and Tateyama Footpath.
At the large communal bath made of Japanese cypress wood with its woodsy scent, you can be calm and relax in a big bathtub. The open-air bath surrounded by rocks and Shigaraki ware is full of the feeling of freedom and you can get a full view of Lake Hamana and Mt.Okusa. At the chartered open-air bath (limited for hotel guests), you can enjoy a luxurious moment. (There is a case when you cannot take one day onsen due to the circumstances.)
You can taste various dishes focusing on local food and the affection to their cuisine that has been handed down over from their opening. Meals focus on seasonal influences and throughout the courses you can taste the distinct flavors of the season. You can relax and enjoy their cuisine in a private setting, since the course is prepared for, and served in your own room. (If you are the party of six or more, it will be prepared in a different room.)
Every room faces Lake Hamana and you can fully enjoy seasonal views of the lake and Mt.Okusa in front of you. There is a warm hospitality of morning tea and handmade pickled plums that are served to each room before breakfast.
