Kikusui-tei
The Kikusui-tei is located on the east side of Lake Hamamatsu which spreads out over the western end of Hamamatsu City. Kanzanji Sago Royal Hotel
Kanzanji Sago Royal Hotel is a Japanese inn at a hot-spring resort surrounded by Mt. Tateyama that has Kanzanji temple, the origin of the name "Kanzanji Onsen". At Mt. Tateyama, there is a Kanzanji Sho Kanzeon Bosatsu Statue standing as if watching over the hotel, and you can walk to visit there. During evening twilight, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Hamana which changes from moment to moment, from the open-air bath or the pool side. It's at a very magical location, and only a few minutes walk to the activity facilities such as Lake Hamana Sightseeing Cruiser boarding point.

Sansuikan Kinryu
Sansuikan Kinryu started as the restaurant "Mikawa-ya" in 1910 (Meiji 43) and opened a kappo-ryotei (fancy restaurant serving mainly Japanese cuisine) "Sansuiro" in 1919 (Taisho 8), and made new history as an onsen and restaurant hotel which maintains their cuisine from the beginning of their opening. It is located next to Kanzanji-temple, which is the origin of the name "Kanzanji-onsen", and is proud of their great view where you can marvel at a full view of the lake spread out before your eyes. It has a perfect setting for walking around Kanzanji area since it is close to Hamanako pleasure boat boarding point and Tateyama Footpath.

more...Hamamatsu City Zoo was the first zoo to open in the prefecture of Shizuoka in 1950. 400 animals from 120 species are bred there, and together with its extensive exhibits, various events are held for the enjoyment of visitors. Since moving to its present location facing Lake Hamana, the sprawling estate now covers a land area of 146,000 square meters that makes use of the natural, undulating terrain to project an image of being in the middle of a forest. As you follow the path heading towards the animals, you can hear the chirping of the birds and the buzzing of insects, you can also stop to admire the flowering plants along the way. The zen temple Kanzanji of the Soto sect is located on the slopes of Mt. Tateyama, a small mountain about 50m high, located in the northern part of the Kanzanji hot springs town to which it lends its name. This historic old temple is said to have been established by Kukai (Kobo Daishi) in 810, it is a branch temple of Shuuyouji Temple on Mt.Akihasan (Detail for) in Haruno.
more...Hamanako Music Box Museum is specialized in music boxes and located by Lake Hamana. It stands on the summit of Mount Ohkusa, which overlooks the lake. Approximately 70 automatic musical instruments from all over the world are displayed in the museum hall and the precious exhibits include: music boxes of various types from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, automatic pianos, automatic organs, a fairground organ, karakuri ningyo (mechanical dolls) and gramophones.

It has the largest onsen resort in Shizuoka Prefecture that is reachable as a day trip, the "Hanasaki no Yu," comprising of three large baths, each one with its own characteristics: "Hinoka no Yu," "Shakkei no Yu" and "Daidarabotchi no Yu." It has 25 baths in total in many different varieties, including indoor baths, open air baths, cold water baths, and saunas.The resort also has restaurants, cafes, massage rooms, and beauty facilities; a wonderful place of healing where you can relax for the whole day. more...The Hamanako Service Area is one of popular service areas in Japan and is located at the midpoint between Tokyo and Osaka. This is the only place in Japan where you can enjoy cruising from a service area! For a limited time only, this boat sails with the guide of local fisherman. The voyage takes about twenty minutes and travels by rough rocks which was used for the stone wall of Hamamatsu Castle, to Uchiura Bay where you can see the seasonal scenery of Tateyama/Ohkusayama, and it also goes under the big red bridge of Tomei highway to Lake Hosoe where you can see Mt. Fuji when the sky is clear.
