    Sansuikan Kinryu started as the restaurant "Mikawa-ya" in 1910 (Meiji 43) and opened a kappo-ryotei (fancy restaurant serving mainly Japanese cuisine) "Sansuiro" in 1919 (Taisho 8), and made new history as an onsen and restaurant hotel which maintains their cuisine from the beginning of their opening. It is located next to Kanzanji-temple, which is the origin of the name "Kanzanji-onsen", and is proud of their great view where you can marvel at a full view of the lake spread out before your eyes. Kanzanji Ropeway is the only ropeway in Japan that passes over a lake. From Lake Hamana Palpal to the observation deck and Hamanako Music Box Museum on top of Mt. Okusa, the ropeway stretches 723 meters, allowing riders to enjoy a four-minute cruise through the air. Directly below you are the calm waters of Lake Hamana and the grand natural beauty of Mt. Okusa. If you look further, you can see the Pacific Ocean and on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji. As you rise in elevation, all of the rich scenery around Lake Hamana will be spread out before you.

Lake Hamana boasts the largest circumference of all brackish lakes in Japan and is a very scenic place surrounded by seasonal nature. The view from the observation tower is wonderful, but you can also discover a different sort of feeling from the landscape when you see it from the lake. Why not indulge yourself in a luxurious time, feeling the refreshing breeze on a cruise? Lake Hamana cruises run two courses around the lake, a 60 min course or a 30 min course. It's also a convenient means of transportation from the lake to Kanzanji hot springs.

Hamamatsu City Zoo was the first zoo to open in the prefecture of Shizuoka in 1950. 400 animals from 120 species are bred there, and together with its extensive exhibits, various events are held for the enjoyment of visitors. Since moving to its present location facing Lake Hamana, the sprawling estate now covers a land area of 146,000 square meters that makes use of the natural, undulating terrain to project an image of being in the middle of a forest. As you follow the path heading towards the animals, you can hear the chirping of the birds and the buzzing of insects, you can also stop to admire the flowering plants along the way. It will surely lighten your mood and provide a sense of respite for your body that is exhausted from a hard day's work and suffering from lack of exercise.

Lake Hamana (Hamanako), in the western part of Hamamatsu City, has the shoreline among brackish lakes in Japan. Lake Hamana Cycling Road is a cycling trail that was laid out to lie almost full circle around the lake. Many people come to this cycling road where one can feel and enjoy the nature of Lake Hamana, some enjoy riding road bikes in earnest, some find pleasure in a light-hearted ride with rental bicycles during their trip.

The zen temple Kanzanji of the Soto sect is located on the slopes of Mt. Tateyama, a small mountain about 50m high, located in the northern part of the Kanzanji hot springs town to which it lends its name. This historic old temple is said to have been established by Kukai (Kobo Daishi) in 810, it is a branch temple of Shuuyouji Temple on Mt.Akihasan (Detail for) in Haruno.

The Lake Hamana Kanzanji Art Museum is an art museum located in the Kanzanji hot springs area by Lake Hamana in western Hamamatsu City, and it adjoins the hot springs hotel Tokiwasure Kaikaitei. The location on the shores of Lake Hamana has an excellent view, and the first floor is devoted to the Kaikaitei Cafe Gallery La Mer with large windows looking out onto Lake Hamana. Meanwhile, the space on the second floor is an art museum with two exhibition rooms. Personal exhibitions and small concerts are often held in the first floor gallery.

Hamanako Music Box Museum is specialized in music boxes and located by Lake Hamana. It stands on the summit of Mount Ohkusa, which overlooks the lake. Approximately 70 automatic musical instruments from all over the world are displayed in the museum hall and the precious exhibits include: music boxes of various types from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, automatic pianos, automatic organs, a fairground organ, karakuri ningyo (mechanical dolls) and gramophones.

The onsen of Hamamatsu is called "Kanzanji Onsen." It has the largest onsen resort in Shizuoka Prefecture that is reachable as a day trip, the "Hanasaki no Yu," comprising of three large baths, each one with its own characteristics: "Hinoka no Yu," "Shakkei no Yu" and "Daidarabotchi no Yu." It has 25 baths in total in many different varieties, including indoor baths, open air baths, cold water baths, and saunas.The resort also has restaurants, cafes, massage rooms, and beauty facilities; a wonderful place of healing where you can relax for the whole day. Bath and face towels are complimentary (although some may incur charges), so you can feel free to stop by at anytime.
